Ashburton Lyndhurst Irrigation Scheme

Redline Group successfully delivers Ashburton Lyndhurst Irrigation Scheme for Monadelphous Water Infrastructure Group. The scope of the project included 231 kilometers of high density polyethylene pipeline (HDPE) ranging from 100 mm (4 inch) to 1200mm (48 inch) diameter pipeline. The project was located on the Canterbury Plains of New Zealand’s South Island.

 

Ashburton Lyndhurst Irrigation Limited is a water supply management company receiving its allocation of water from the Rangitata Diversion Race Management Limited and distributing its water through a network of races to it’s shareholder members who collectively farm close to 30,000 hectares.

 

The project represented the first major pipeline construction project in New Zealand and Redline was exited to deliver such an important asset to the South Island, its stakeholders and the community.

 

The Ashburton Lyndhurst Irrigation scheme area is on the Northern Bank of the north branch of the Ashburton River in the south to the RDR race in the west, down Ledgerwood, Line & Thomsons Track Road to Mitcham Road in the north and Somerton and State Highway 1 in the East.

 

The project was completed ahead of schedule and incorporated in excess of 13,000 HDPE fusions with zero recorded failures or incidents.
